Claiming, correcting or updating a listing
A directory entry is only useful to a reader while it matches the real business behind it: the regions a distributor covers, the brands it's authorised to sell, the accreditation a service firm holds. Where any of that has changed, or where a firm isn't listed at all, sending the correction on is straightforward.
What a correction needs
Point to something a reader could check for themselves. That might be a company registration number, a page on the firm's own website, a BCAS or SAFed membership record, or a UKAS accreditation certificate and its scope. A correction that says "this is now covered by a different distributor" is harder to act on than one that says "this postcode is now served by [firm], see their coverage page at [URL]".
What to send for a new listing
- The firm's legal name and registered address
- The regions or postcodes it actually covers
- The brands it's authorised to sell or service, where that applies
- Any trade membership (BCAS, SAFed) or accreditation (UKAS) held, with a way to verify it
- A contact route for the firm itself, in case a follow-up question comes up
How re-checking works
An entry that goes up today reflects what its source showed on the date it was read. Company details change, memberships lapse or renew, and coverage areas shift as firms grow or scale back, so an entry from some time ago is worth re-checking against the same source before you rely on it. Sending a correction whenever you spot something out of date is the fastest way for that gap to close.
Send it
Corrections and new listing requests can go to aircompressors. Include the entry's current page where one exists, and the source you'd like the change checked against.
